this has nothing to do with iPads i suppose but a co-worker and I at lunch yesterday had our iPhones out (me ATT & Co-worker VZW) he could not get any bars and therefore his apps were useless for 3G (we were trying a GPS Map) and I got on and got teh voice commands within 30 seconds. I had 4 bars, he had none. He said his Verizon iPhone was about useless for any service. he had ATT before but the company has a Verizon plan and his phone is company paid...

Yeah I never understood why the phones would have different thicknesses. The cameras are probably the same too.

By the way...Steve Jobs has a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer, called Islet cell carcinoma. The 10 year survival rate is 32%. That is very good, especially with all the money and drive that Steve has. He looks like he is a man on chemo, not a man who is going to die. I say he lives till his 80's.
I think it's closer to 4-6% for 5 years Pancreatic cancer is the only cancer to have a 5 year survival rate of a single digit.

So I've been loosely paying attention to this... what are the CPU/video requirements? I remember 2+ years ago there was aforum member who was a Blizzard employee saying there was a teenie tiny chance they would support powerPC ( which I know they're not doing now... that was 2 years ago )

Who cares??? its a $500 device that can replace all computer needs of any student. Period.
When was the last time you were in a university class? No offense, but before the iPad came out, I said I would purchase one if it did everything I needed it to do (word processing, FULL internet, music, and email). Unfortunately, it doesn't multi-task, and it does not do the full internet.

Backlit keyboard would take it to another level. Theres just something very awesome about the backlit keyboards. I dont need to look at the keys to type, I just like the esthetics of it all. I would also like to see current gen processors in a current gen model. The last thing that I could ask for would be edge to edge display with zero bezel around the display and trim up around the keyboard. Thats all extra bulk as far as Im concerned.

Personally I'd like to see all 3 options thus proposed available for Mac users: A Mac App Store initial download option, a DVD, and a USB drive. That way, people can pick whichever one they need or want.
Well with the way their user base is growing it's far more of an issue for Apple than it is for Us. I mean if it eats that much of our download limits think of that volume times user base.
For a company that has recently come out with a way break big video files into chunks you'd think they'd be able to do the same with normal files. So we only needed to grab updated chunks.

Not really. With so many people owning iPhone 4s and iPad 1s, there's little danger of being "spec'd out" of most software on the App Store anytime soon.
Dev's will write apps to take advantage of the A-5, but I highly doubt the overwhelming majority will write their apps to require it. That'd be throwing away too much potential profit.
I'm sure it'll be nice and people will wow about with how "snappy" the processor makes the phone, but the fact is that an A-5 alone isn't a compelling reason to upgrade unless Apple makes major revisions to iOS5 that require it.

Now, if they were from another manufacturer (i.e. a knock-off product), or from a non-Apple production run at Foxconn (though there may be some serious issues there, too, as under contract Apple may own all product coming off certain tools), then the only possible criminal issue would be patent infringement.

To use a car in the UK, (unless it's a classic car made before 1972 I think), you have to keep it taxed. It's �105/6 months for my car, which has a 2litre engine.
Depends on the state. I pay $25 a year to renew my license plates, and then around $400 a year in personal property tax (that number depends on the value of the car, my car is 2 years old so it's pretty high). Some states have a higher license plate fee and no personal property tax.

I watched a discovery channel show a few years ago where I think Spain was selling phones with a chip in them to act as a bus pass.
I would really like to see something like the OP become main stream. I like the MasterCard� PayPass� idea but you still need to take out a card and deal with your wallet; but if it was as easy as waving a phone and a pin code, I'd love it.

Apple must have a 5 GHz chip lying around somewhere. I bet Motorola has produced at least one or two by luck in some of their production runs. Apple should slap them into a Mac and sell it for $100,000 just to say Macs are the fastest. Some rich people would love to have the fastest Mac around.
