Yes, there are other ways that in an emergency you can keep in touch with IV. Total waste of valuable money, for the couple of occasions it has happened
I dont really care about the website outages. Thats not the main issue. Two or three core/senior volunteers are always running a contribution drive. Imagine thse people doing some thing more productive than running funding/media drives. When shyt hits the roof, we have a boat load of people asking when the hell shyt is gonna be all over us or how to wipe off the shyt. IV's strength lies in its members and all the time IV members have not responded to enroll in a monthly payment. People want GC's, but they dont want to pay for the fight. People want GC's but they want accountability for 20USD. People have point specific issues about themselves and their imigration issues and are happy to leverage the knowledge of the IV community, but do not care a damn about IV community. Those who pay, pay twice, pay thrice and even more. Why should any one do it? Why should others just simply browse and get answers for persoanl point specific issues? Those who do not know the value of green and what it can do in America, should stop worrying about GC. We have become a laughing stock for people on anti forums like alipac who have arrived at the conclusion that they dont need to fight us because we fight among us big time. Enough of my rant.

Wow! Thanks a lot for posting such detailed RFE information. This really helps a lot in understanding what I may be asked.
My GC sponsoring employer revoked my H1 last year itself. I could see the change in status back then itself within a month of having left them. Nothing happenned after that. I got a new H1 from my (then) new employer and things continued as before. This employer has not yet revoked my H1 (from what I can see) and its probably because they are almost going under. There are less than 25 people left in the company so I doubt that they will have spent the money to go and revoke all the H1s of the folks they laid off.
Maybe its like someone suggested - USCIS is pre-processing my 485 based on received date since I mailed my app very early on in July 2007.

As you can see from my RFE, you might need to show your recent paystubs and employment verification. Yes, it will be a financial loss for you, but without these I believe your case can get rejected (gurus correct me if I'm wrong!).

Yes you can use the old priority date. However, this is only possible if you have a copy of the old approved LC and 140.....

and will only list out the "obvious" possible outcomes which we ourselves can list out.!! So far, at least 2 attorneys I have approaced haven't been able to tell me how 2 485 applications for a single person are handled. Godammit, it is not some rocket science question; it has to be there in some USCIS manual/rule book or a section of the immigration law.

However, I agree that donor forum proved to be disastrous and driving people away from IV. Someone in core team should do analysis on how much it helped the IV cause and whether it should exist going forward. Lack of transparency is clearly hurting IV cause.

And show DONORS where their money is going? Where is the sponsors money going? and what is this ORGANIZATION planning to do. IF not, one these days they will find themselves in a audit and public scrutiny.

Reg correcting the dates, USCIS usually takes months to respond to such things. I'm not gonna do anything about it for my case, unless the processing dates show virtually no movement.
My understanding of process.date is that it is the oldest date of completed cases - which means they might be caught up with processing on most cases received till that date (July-20th 2007 ?) I could be wrong, we'll see..

I was the first person in the QnA - disappointed at the intent of this meeting - they really care about illegal immigration - not once legal immigrants were discussed. It was a farce and IV was just used as an organization to show support to him - very disappointed.:mad:

Congress is full of people who do not look at the merit of the issue but simple look at the polls to decide their stand on the issue. Congressman Gutierrez showed exceptional courage and quality of a true leader by sponsoring STRIVE bill. If you don’t know, STRIVE bill has very good provisions to end green card backlog. But of’course, why would you care, you are simply dying to go back and simply wanted to show to the crowed that you are better than others. You have no clue about “COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM bill”, would you? I would have not replied to you if you hadn't posted your message. But seeing you behave the way you did at the event, and then coming to the forums to say that you were “disappointed” underscores a simple fact, and that is, when IV has foolish members like yourself, there is no need for anti-immigrant groups to do anything.

But today morning, my colleague said that his friend was harassed by IO. My colleague's friend came to JFK last week and IO called the professor he was working with. [My colleague said he is a doctor, doing medical research here]. IO gave him I-94 expiring in 5 days and asked him to go back. I have asked contact details for his friend and I will make sure that he gets in touch with IV so that IV can do something about it.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be quite true as it contradicts the April bulletin. The bulletin says there are unused visas in the second category going to EB-2 India, and doesn't mention EB-1 at all.
There also seem to be people who are going to sue because they believe DOS ignoring per-country quotas is hurting their chances at EB-3 visas (i.e. they claim that if EB-2 India should get any extra visas then all of EB-3 ROW applications should be approved first). This situation is turning out to be quite interesting. I wonder if we're going to have another fiasco like the July 2007 one.
Just a question out of curiosity....why would someone choose 'taliban' as a login handle, knowing fully well the kind of unneccessary negative attention one can get. I do fully respect the individual's choice to choose her/her own id but just curious...And to jog the curiosity even more , this member seems to be tagged as 'banned' now.. :D...did the admins not like the chosen handle as well !!
