Gentlemen,
I visited a link that was posted long time back ... the count on each link increases every day.

All this discussion about revealing sources and gaining fame is really funny from my pov.
AILA liaison reports routinely name this official, news reports also routinely name this official. He has also testified before Congress and those transcripts are freely available to those who look. If you have not heard his name before and do not know he is the one who sets cutoff dates, it is only because you haven't been paying attention in class...:)
Also in this case it was Ron Gotcher reporting on the AILA So Cal Liaison meeting who revealed his name in the first place.
I should also add that I have no special connection with this or any other official (sigh -- wouldn't I have my greencard already if I did). I've done my share of research since I got stuck in retrogression in Oct 2005, and have exercised my rights as a stakeholder in the immigration process to pick up the phone and ask questions where ever I can. Knowing the sections of the INA, the contents of the Ombudsmans Reports, CRS reports etc. tends to make people very responsive.
As for the reason for me sharing this information -- which after all I could have just sat on for myself -- was because I would want the same -- if someone found out something that potentially was going to affect my greencard I would want to know. I want to know every possible shred of information.
Of course maybe that is what I should do the next time. Just sit tight.:D

I know ROW country may not like this thread, but look at EB-3 India or China, put yourself in our shoes and than you may realize how unfair this country is. In this unprecedented financial turmoil, I feel there are very remote chances for CIR or any package which increase immigration etc would pass, I am taking this initiative to gather as many people I can and go to washington. Again this is not an IV effort. If you are with me , you can spare some time or few days in Washington, please PM me. our sole agenda is bring a 2 line bill to remove country quota...

While your concern is genuine, our experience says it is not that easy to remove country quota with a 2 line bill. IV will advocate for it, but understand that it will not happen in isolation and it is not feasible in an isolated bill. Lot of ROW have this misconception that IV just wants to remove country caps and help people of particular countries. That is not true. Our aim is to end retrogression for 'everyone'. Country caps is one of the ways by which we aim to do that. But understand an immigration bill will not have just country cap removal. That is not practical. There will be recapture and other possible measures like raising limit or backlog elimination specific measures with time limit.
So do not fan emotions through the post because people start getting agitated without fully understanding the reality and what and how IV aims to approach this problem.
We prefer that we help clear misunderstandings with other fellow members whenever they argue on this topic.

I think you don't understand. USCIS has no control over the Visa bulletin. The reason India EB3 is doomed because of the percountry limitations set by DOS.
Congress need to change that rule not USCIS.

Each Year un-used FB (Family based) visas are given to EB (Employment based) in coming year. Last year CIS did not use 22704 FB visa which is added to 140K EB count for 2008.

Its not about individualistic ideas, but a collection of all good ideas.
Make ALL advanced features such as PMing, emailing members on the forums, accessible to paid members. We are not asking for much JUST $10. If a guy cant pay $10 and that too to basically ask questions, then maybe we dont WANT them on the site, hogging bandwidth.

Okay. Even if we send the AC21 letter to USCIS, whats the guarantee that they will take action or even read it. AC21 letter is not going to be a paid service and USCIS will treat this letter as any other letter like interfile letters. I am not sure whether USCIS has any specific PO Box for AC21 services. In my knowledge, there is none. I had sent my interfiling letter in early Oct 07 and there is no information from USCIS on this. Today, I went to meet an IO thru Infopass, the first layer of service lady was so rude that she did not even allow me to meet the actual IO. She said that this kind of information does not come on computer so IO would not be helpful. She was not at all listening to me. My point is can one make sure that his/her AC21 letter has been accepted and acted upon. If not, is there any need to send the AC21 letter?
