The above post is senseless !! who cares who votes for whom and who does what ?? what democrats do and what republicans do is not in our hands - nor do we decide who comes in power. our aim should be to try and come up with a plan and act on it. whether it succeeds or not is not in our hands ...doing something is better than nothing. so if u have a better plan come up with it and we will support and act on it.

Things don't move in vacuum. How people vote has everything to do with how lawmakers vote and how lawmakers vote has everything to do with what bills pass. You just want the bill so that you can get green card, end of story. And anything other than that is "who cares".
Look, without making and attempt to understand how things work in DC/Congress, sending flowers and cards to Obama, don't expect things to change. Tunnel vision is very dangerous, just like half knowledge.
Although we do not control who comes into power, if we wish to have our issues addressed, we have the responsibility to understand why/how someone or some party won the elections. Please stop behaving like and IT project manager where someone will come up with a silver bullet solution/plan and then implementation of that one silver bullet will fix everything. Getting bills passed in congress is not an IT project. I think the plan has been laid by the core team. I understand that core team has repeatedly told us to get more actively involved, raise money to help with advocacy and create awareness of the issue. Posting few messages on the web forum is not the measure of how involved someone is. But it appears most people on this forum do not want to do what the core seems to be telling us. We just want to come up with an way way out, a silver bullet solution, well defined project plan, and at the end of time and money, we must see the desired result. Maybe that's why some of the folks keep asking for the "plan". And discussion about who won the election and how people/lawmakers vote is seen as out of place and unnecessary.

Yes was similar to yours. The status did change to Review. They just got it yesterday and I saw hard lud yesterday and a soft lud today. I did not know how my Attorney responded or worded it, I just sent him the EVL from current employer.
Mine also should have reached yesterday. Didn't see any LUD. I am really nervous.

Please do not mind, my writing this - I honestly think we should stop writing insensible comments like "sick people getting frustrated" and the like...
IV is a professional not for profit outfit, with a set agenda. We should work together towards achieving our goal, through legal, available channels.
If things work out - great! If they don't, it's disappointing but not the end of the world.
People who chose to stay and wait longer for their Permanent Residency will do so; those who cannot (for whatever reasons) will find other alternatives...
Let's not make this a platform for venting out our frustrations.

Everybody stands in one single queue......one line not five lines......one line my friend, irrespective of your nationality. so if you wait 2 years, or 2 hours..I wait the same. Unlike NOW, where some people wait 5-8 years and others 1-2 years.
I think what USCIS can do in order to achieve your "fair play" is they will start to put country limit on H-1B also and then cut off date show up for some countries for H-1 applications(PS: unused quota can't go to oversubscribed countries at 4th quarter). In this case, years later, there's no need for specific country bulletins for EB.
The current case is over 50% of H-1B issued to Indian and Chinese every year. And that is why now most people here are waiting.

It is not possible to revert back to the system where we were allowed to concurrently file I-140/I-485.
The only practical thing that can fought for and achieved is increase in number of visa numbers per year and faster processing.
Even, if visa numbers are current, they will not accept concurrent filing.

GC process is 3 step process and the lawyer is representing you (485 stage) as well as the employer (labor and 140 stage)........So, if you leave the employer, most lawyers will refuse to continue to represent you unless they authorized in written by the employer....it is a conflict of interest for them.......hence, I think I will go to some other lawyer for AC 21......and thats why the money.....
It is bit shocking to know that one will have to pay for just AC21 notification. I mean, if you already have lawyer associated with your GC file, which I believe, most of us should have either appointed by our employer OR hired by ourselves (Many companies give a choice to hire "your own" lawyer). I understand that since one change the employment, the general criteria is to assume that the lawyer (If paticularly appointed by past employer) is now no more attached to the case. But in truth it is not. Fulfilling AC21 notification is part of the whole end to end package since case remains same unless you notify USCIS to change your attorney. In my case I was given a choice to hire "My Own lawyer" and once I started to work on EAD, virtually now he is my lawyer not "my employer's lawyer" and hence he will be sending AC21 related paperwork to USCIS though he told me that he would not do it right now as he is busy with H1 filing load. Taking a benefit of one group, then distribute the pain across the board is not fair to ROW applicants. This is not the solution. You cannot say to us ROW people that we don't understand the fustration of waiting for our GC as well.
I think its ridiculous that some family takes up to 4 GC from the EB GC pool, why don't you make a petition to state that only EB GC goes to EB primary applicant while your family takes up family based GC. Unless your wife and kids are hired to work as the rest of us, them taking EB based GC is unfair to the rest of us who don't have a family.If you petition to eliminate country EB GC only to the primary applicant, then fine....i am all for it, but if you add your wife and kids to it, i say no.

Visa bulletin will be the future(in contrast of being history) again after u receive ur Receipt Notice as that is what u will be looking for to see if they are processing ur application after Oct.

I got one FP done after filing I-485 and another when I first applied for EAD (18 motnhs back)
My spouse got only one FP request after I-485 and none during EAD renewals.
I wonders if we use AP to enter, do the fingerprints taken at the port of entry automatically get registered with our I-485 application. Because when we enter on AP there is a additional stepo at the port of entry where dat ais entered into some system.

if you read previous discussion and particulary logiclife post, you will find, any immigration reform bill will not be discussed let alone passed until it resolves illegal immigration issue
gone are the days where h1b increase use to be part of some budget bill.

only chance SKILL has is thru CIR or other forum where it address illegal issue,
my point is we don't need any legislative change at this point,
IV is for legals who are already here legally and our demands are very simple, such as if they allow use to file I485 with being current and if they use unused visa numbers and allocate them to over subscribed countries our life will be lot better,
we need to rethink our stratergy and stop knocking these law makers, who cares only about illegals, either they are against them or far them, but they just don't really care about legals

Whilst in general a name change does sound like a good idea, we have spent a lot of time and money making sure that Immigration Voice as an organization is known.

One thing we can do immediately is to add the words " An organisation of Legal Immigrants" or something to that effect under the globe which says immigration voice on it on the top left corner of the web page. This will immediately make know of our status to those who visit us..Just my 25 cents...;)
