Its kind of a funny situation, and dangerous at the same time. This is a setup for a perfect storm and these idiot "friends" are planning for sunny days ahead. I guess someone forgot to turn on the weather channel, which in this situation is equivalent to "using common sense".
I am sorry to say this but all these "friends" are actually not your friends. Its better to have a wise foe than foolish friends.
Intelligence is about matching the dots and foresee the coming events, which always tend to cast their shadow before they appear. Idiots tend to overlook the dots, and they continue to live in fools paradise. The problem is not the formation of a perfect storm, the problem is most of these "friends" will be caught off-guard, and the ship will take everyone down with them. I wish I knew of a better way to desrcibe the current situation.

Economy and job losses - this economy will not spare anyone and one has to be ready for ac21 and ex employer revocation and uscis officer sending denial and filing mtr than celebrating based on thoughts that Obama will give a green card.
Someone suggests - ahh I got EAD so I will get Green card soon, someone suggests I got finger print so I will get Green card soon.
I have seen people saying "My employer loves me and will never fire me - he invited me to play golf with him yesterday".
For those who keep saying "I will go back to my home country" - just look at the other side of the window - there are tons who want to jump this side.

I wish that educated moron could come in open to discuss the alternative approaches. with a issues like this probably we need mltiple approaches to get our msg clear.
It looks like someone just walked by put red dot with "." as comment to everyone. Gave one to me too... Just ignore. Its not important. More important is what exactly we want to do.
Whatever we decide, lets finalize and start working on it. I remember famous quote from Walt Disney: "The best way to get something done is start doing it."

I am in a IDEA mood today!
In our website there is space for 5-6 lines where we have the picture of a cloud now...
We should pick top 10 best slogans and display it there.....like each slogan should appear for 10 seconds and change it to next.....
We should put a poll to select the top 10 slogans

Are you saying that whoever is happy in their job without a GC is in a closet or jail?Only if you plan to remain in the U.S. permanently and you don't like the fact that you'll have to wait for many years without the ability to get a salary raise or promotion, without your spouse being able to work (if you have one) and being forced to leave the U.S. immediately if you get laid off.
If you are perfectly happy with your H1-B job and planning to stay in the U.S. only temporarily, then no, you are not in a jail or closet. But 99% of us are.

I can understand your concerns and frustration. You have taken good amount of time and efforts to draft this.
We all are going through the same pain but need to be carefully for our choice of words. You don't want listeners to be on opposite side of what you are saying just because of bad choice of words and language. What you are mentioning can be drafted in good words (In India we used to call as Sugar Coated).
There are parts of world never give citizenship or too difficult to get perm residency also like Switzerland, Germany to name couple of them. Lets be more objective and decide how we encounter the situation we are in.
I am always promoter of Gandhigiri and second flower campaign. AlbertPinto has started a thread for this. Lets just work on this.

Well said Akhil. Its all about personal choice. But if you ask me USA rocks! I have lived in 6 states (south, north, midwest) in my 9 years of stay in USA..Never had a single problem with racism. All my bosses were fair and nice.... Even my university people were very friendly and accomodated me in their culture without hesitation. I see more racism and discrimination in India. We discriminate "big time" against our own back there. Plus back in India we have political unrest, communal tensions, riots, strikes..lot of uncertainities. Lets live in USA with pe@ce and make good life...

Certainty is releated to belief not reality. It still means the name check was not completed. The law does not say they "when you are certain that the FBI name check can be cleared..please allot a visa."
Nowhere in that statement he says anything about the name check. It might be just the expired biometrics. And coming from some anonymous immigration officials how can you be sure that the information is absolutely credible or represents the facts and not their speculations? Were those applications really approved or they've just requested the visa numbers for them?

Is that fine since all the other time she was on EAD or out of country.

May ask you why you joined this organization if you say that only sick people are frustrated with the delay in GC. By that logic all of us are sick people! I think your comment was made in bad taste and crticizes all the hard work this organization and its members are doing.
I am sorry for it if you took my comment that way. I also realize that this organization is doing great. I only want to say be should not be sick because of just GC. you should be sick if you are not responsible for you wife and kids. you should be sick if you are not responsible for your family back in India. you should be sick if you are not responsible for your country. you could be most intellegent person in the world but if you are not responsible then you should worried.
